Deborah, New Zealand

deborah mcdonald 1

Procedure: Facelift.

Destination: Malaysia.

Hospital: Beverly Wilshire Medical Centre.

Surgeon: Dr Nasir.

I have undergone a mid, lower face and neck facelift as well as lower and upper eyelid surgery at the Beverly Wiltshire  Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur,  which was organised through Gorgeous Getaways.

I was very apprehensive at first but researched the company to find out that it has a good reputation and the surgeon was highly qualified with many year’s experience.  I was also impressed by the before and after photos on their website.

I am 62 and  had been very unhappy with my appearance for a few years, in particular jowls and and under eye bags, not to mention the many wrinkles – all of which made me look older than I am.   So I decided to pluck up courage go ahead with the surgery and I’m so grateful that I did.   My face is now smooth and my eyes are more open – I actually have eyelids now!  I have a much fresher look and don’t look tired all the time. I’ve received many compliments – thank you Dr Nasir!

The after care was also amazing as was the hotel we stayed in, which was recommended to us by Gorgeous Getaways.

I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Gorgeous Getaways to anyone contemplating cosmetic surgery.

I would like to make a special mention of Kumari who took excellent care of me post surgery and also Augustine, our driver. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them and we came home feeling we had made some special friends.

Sam Beauty and the Beach Thailand*

Procedures: – Breast augmentation and Labiaplasty

Surgeon: Dr Poonsak & Dr Piyapas

This is Sam’s story:

I first started considering plastic surgery about 4 years ago – when I turned 19 and started working in an office, I put on weight. This in turn made my breasts bigger, and then when I lost the weight my breasts shrank and sagged. They had no shape to them and I could never get away with not wearing a bra.

At the same time, I spent my teenage years as a competitive horse rider, and all those years in the saddle left me with swollen and misshapen labia. I was embarrassed to wear a bikini because of the bulge.

Both of these things bothered me for quite a few years until I decided that I should do something about it. When I learned that I could have these procedures in Thailand, and have a fantastic holiday at the same time for a fraction of the price in Australia, I knew it was what I wanted to do. My partner came to Thailand with me and supported me all through the lead up and recovery for my surgery. We managed to spend quality time together even while I was sore and tired.

I didn’t consult any surgeons at home, once I decided I wanted the surgery I only wanted to go to Thailand for it – having a holiday at the same time really appealed to me! I rarely get a chance to go on holidays, so combining the two was right up my alley.

I chose Gorgeous Getaways as I have had previous experiences with them (as have some friends) and it’s always been positive.

I was a little nervous in the lead up to the holiday, and I only told a few close friends – there is still such a stigma around plastic surgery that I didn’t want to be dealing with my nerves AND people telling me not to do it!

When I arrived at the hospital I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and attentive, the facilities were top notch, and the GG support staff had the answers to any questions i had.

I almost immediately relaxed – I felt confident in what I had chosen to do. Right before surgery I started to feel a little nervous again, all the thoughts of “I hope everything goes as planned!” start to creep into your mind. When I first woke up afterwards, I was a little sore and out of sorts, but the nurses were so great with their care it was easy to relax again. I was discharged the following day.

I was up and about pretty soon after getting back to the hotel, though I was a little slower than normal. My partner was on hand to help me at all times, and was very understanding if all I wanted to do was lie on the couch with icepacks. I made sure to rest and ice, and took arnica to reduce swelling and bruising.

My partner and I hired a scooter for our time in Thailand, and after a few days I was feeling well enough to hop on the back. We went shopping, we went to the beach, we went up to see the big buddha. It was fantastic! I took things slow, and there were some days where I was just too sore to go anywhere.

When it was time to go home, I was sad and excited at the same time. Sad to be leaving our holiday only just after it started, and excited to see my friends and family.

Now that most of my healing is behind me, I feel fantastic. I have absolutely no regrets about my surgery – I can wear all sorts of clothing that I never felt confident in before, and when I look in the mirror I love what I see.

My advice would be to take it slow and listen to your body. If you need a rest, have a rest. If you feel great, get up and get outside – it really helps mentally to be able to get on with normal activities.

Having both of the procedures at the same time was tough, as it was sometimes hard to get comfortable, but I don’t regret doing it as it meant I only had to go through healing once.

Gorgeous Getaways was fantastic – the level of support was great and I felt at ease knowing the staff had the answers to my questions.[/fusion_text] [fusion_text]Return to view more Case Studies

[/fusion_text][/fullwidth][fusion_text]This is Lee’s story:

I considered surgery as I was dissatisfied with my side profile of my nose and thought that my nasal passage always felt clogged and limited for air when breathing. I felt I would be a lot more confident and comfortable having surgery to correct this. Also, I had mild Bals Palsy that caused the right hand side of my face to appear tired with an unsymmetrical appearance, the muscles on one side of the face were stronger than the other so when I smiled it was more obvious as you use your face muscles all the time.

I have wanted to have this corrected for some time, it had bothered me for at least the last 5 years. I was nervous however after talking to the staff at Gorgeous Getaways I felt more enthusiastic and prepared to go ahead with the surgery.

I have never seen such a clean, professional and welcoming hospital environment. There was nothing that I could fault.

I would be comfortable to say that my expectation were well and truly superseded.

Recovery was ok I guess… It did make a huge difference to be in close proximity to the hospital and the hotel catered to my needs and I just felt that the combination of holiday and surgery together worked really well. I would have loved to have stayed a little longer as I enjoyed myself so much.

I love my new look! I had to have some time to transition as this was a change to the appearance to my face however time has progressed and everyday I sit and wonder “why I never got it done sooner?’

It can be a little scary but my Dr was so great with everything he explained everything exceptionally, I could not have asked for anything more as the whole experience was great.

I would advise that any questions (there are no stupid questions) you wish to ask to write them down beforehand.

I previously had plastic surgery at another clinic on my face, and was not happy with the outcome. The previous surgery was performed three years ago and I had a consultation in Australia to have the rectification carried out but found it to be too expensive compared to Thailand. I arranged Gorgeous Getaways to have the surgery carried out in Phuket.

I decided to try Gorgeous Getaways as it also included a vacation and allowed time for the procedure to heal before I returned. I made this decision with my bestfriend and flat mate who encouraged me to do it. I was extremely nervous but Paula and Loraine helped ease the nerves with their support and organised plan.

The surgeon, hospital and Gorgeous Getaways staff were all fantastic and made the whole experience a dream. Dr Rushapol explained the procedure clearly and put my mind at ease. After the surgery, the hospital and Gorgeous Getaways staff were fantastic. I only spent three days in hospital where I was discharged and spent the remainder of the vacation in the beautiful Aspasia hotel, where I spent time recuperating and relaxing.

After arriving at the Aspasia Hotel the first day I spent just resting and caring for the sutures. I began to feel better on the second day and ventured out to the pool area where the vacation really began. During the next three weeks we spent sight seeing and enjoying the Thai hospitality. I would highly recommend the Thai massages as they massaged away all the fear and stress. I even went parasailing (wow now that was fun) After all the events of my surgery, I felt confident in my new appearance and was ready to go back to Australia with a smile.

Now that I am back to reality, I continually am told how Gorgeous I look. My confidence has skyrocketed and I now have the confidence to conquer the world. Before the surgery I was shy and really did not want to venture out much. Thanks to Dr Rushapol his team and the Gorgeous Getaways team I now am a new person.

I would highly recommend the Gorgeous Getaways team and Dr Rushapol to anyone considering any type of surgery. The Gorgeous Getaways team were the most professional and helpful people I have come across.

Judith’s Surgery Holiday In Phuket*

Cost of holiday: AUD $10,623 (including accommodation). Cost of just the treatments at home $30,000
Surgeon:  Dr Witoon, Phuket, Thailand[/fusion_text][/fullwidth][fusion_text]

This is her story:

I joked about having a facelift for a few years before I became quite serious two years ago. Botox helped with the frown lines, but unfortunately my lower face started to sag quite rapidly. To my horror, I developed jowls and a turkey neck that seemed to be progressing almost weekly. No amount of microdermabrasion or anti-ageing creams were helping and I began to get quite distressed and disappointed when I looked in the mirror.

I talked with my husband who was very supportive and encouraged me to ‘just do it’.

I know that facial plastic surgery is very expensive in Australia so I didn’t bother seeing a surgeon here. I started researching overseas cosmetic surgery options and after much investigation and reading, I contacted Gorgeous Getaways for a quote. It helped that I knew someone that had had surgery in Thailand through Gorgeous Getaways and raved about how wonderful her experience had been.

I was impressed with GG’s prompt reply and with the affordability of my surgery. Paula, from GG was wonderful. She was very professional and helpful, and organized everything for me. Her support was second to none, and as I was travelling alone, this was very important to my husband, to know that I was being looked after – he could breathe a sigh of relief.

I was delighted to discover my surgeon was to be Dr Witoon, one of the most recognized plastic surgeons in Thailand. I can’t speak highly enough of the hospital and it’s staff. I felt like a VIP from the
moment I arrived at the hospital. The nurses and liaison staff- yes, they have liaison staff! – were just outstanding.

I went into my consultation with Dr Witoon feeling good, but had a feeling he was going to suggest that I have a lower blepharoplasty, as there was some damage under one of my eyes from a previous treatment involving needling. My worry was that I’d seen photos of lower blephs that had dragged the lower eyelid down and was terrified that might happen to me. Thankfully, this was the first thing he addressed and that extreme care would have to be taken as the under eye is very delicate and taking too much would drag the eyelid down. Yay! After that, I was completely comfortable and would have walked into surgery right then and there. I was so relaxed the next day when I arrived for surgery, Dr Witoon commented that I didn’t look the least bit nervous.

I woke up from surgery, was taken back to my lovely hospital room and attended to again like a VIP. I felt great. Already I could see my face was full, even though there was lots of swelling, I looked a hundred times better than before.

I was free to go back to the resort the next day.

Although I travelled alone, I certainly didn’t feel alone. The GG girls plus others who were having surgery – well,we were one big happy family. The third night I went out to dinner with my bandages on! My family is still astounded by this and wouldn’t have believed it if there weren’t photos to prove it! I just felt so comfortable with everyone…

The first three days after surgery were spent relaxing. I think this helped with my speedy recovery and along with drinking lots of water – through a straw – as I couldn’t open my mouth very wide. There was no pain, but my face felt numb and weird to touch.

Day four I was out and about with the girls having a foot massage and pedicure. Of course there were plenty of bargains to be had shopping also!

On day six, under instruction from Dr Witoon, (and with Paula’s help) I took the bandages off, and washed my hair. The next day, I had my lower blepharoplasty stitches removed. You could hardly see that they had been there. Very impressive. Three days later the rest of the stitches came out. I felt fantastic.

For me, the best result was that I would look the same, just refreshed. I am thrilled to report that that is what I got. Since being back home, I have had fabulous feedback from family and friends that knew. Those that didn’t haven’t picked that I’ve had work done, but comment on how well I look.

I am just so grateful to the Gorgeous Getaways girls, Loraine and Paula in Phuket for taking such good care of me and making my trip stress free.

A huge thank you to Dr Witoon, the nurses and staff at the Bangkok Hospital, Phuket for their wonderful work.

I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about having cosmetic surgery, coupled with a holiday, to contact Gorgeous Getaways, you will be so well looked after![/fusion_text][fusion_text]Return to view more Case Studies

Running out of options
I have been considering liposuction for some years following menopause. Once the “M” word became part of my life it pretty much tipped me and my body upside down.

My shape changed and it was as if my body took on a life of its own. From being a svelte size 10-12 for many years, in fact most of my life, my body turned into the shape of an pear – a very large pear and disproportionate to the rest of my body. My girth became a larger measurement than that of my bust. It was not fun and I felt wretched.

Despite joining a gym and attending at least three times weekly, watching what I ate to the point that I did not eat even a bean sprout more than my diet allowed, and hill walking almost every day, it was all to no avail. I felt defeated and so liposuction was a last resort for me.

It was lovely that my husband supported my decision. He had been by my side throughout all the previous efforts and frustrated days trying with everything I had to change things.

As I had been so very busy with my work, and recently contracting food poisoning which made me very ill, I made the decision to go ahead and began making contact with Gorgeous Getaways representatives. They were all so supportive and no matter how many questions or phone calls or emails I made, I never ever felt that I was a nuisance.

So once a price was agreed upon and I decided which accommodation I would stay in, a date for the surgery was set.

Queen for a day
Never did I feel nervous or alone. The flight over to Kuala Lumpur gave me the opportunity to relax and seeing Lim at the airport with my name emblazoned on a card, waiting for me, was just great. I felt like the queen!!

Lim waited whilst I changed some money and bought a local sim card then he drove me in the beautiful comfortable car with me lying down on the back seat, for the hours journey to Lanson Apartments.

20.6.09 – I love my little apartment. It is comfortable and has everything this gal needs. I awoke early as Lim was taking me to my consultation with Dr Tan. At the hospital, the beautiful Nor was waiting for me and she escorted me to the various pre surgery tests I required. It was very efficient.

I met other women who were also there with Gorgeous Getaways and who had had their surgery. They were quick to pass on that they were thrilled with their outcomes.

Gorgeous Getaways then invited me to a luncheon with a number of other clients. We talked and discussed and laughed together. Although I traveled on my own, there was never a time I felt alone.

21.6.09 Temperatures here are around a steady 30 degrees Celsius. Although warm, it is not so hot that it is unbearable. In fact, I loved it. I swam in the pool, went out for walks and took myself in to see some shops. I could do whatever I chose. I silently thank my husband for supporting me in this venture. Early to bed tonight, surgery tomorrow. Yay!!

The ‘fat spread’
22.1.09 – LET THE TRANSFORMATION BEGIN. I was collected early by car and driven to Sunmed Hospital. Dr Tan marked out my body with a felt marker. I continued to feel calm and stress free. No nerves, no worries.

0800hrs – theatre and ‘time travel’. When I awoke, I was back in my private room. I had a garment on that they must have poured me into in theatre. I felt suspended in a galaxy of nothingness for the next few hours and it was then I noticed the clock on the wall – it already was 4.30pm.

Whoa – how long was I in surgery?

I later learn the clock is hours ahead and I feel a bit like I am playing some surreal role in Alice in Wonderland.

Pain relief was offered on a regular basis for the rest of that day and during the night. The nursing staff were polite, knocking on the door prior to entering my room and always introducing themselves to this pile in the bed who would never ever remember their names, let alone their faces. I didn’t have the ooomph to tell them they were, in fact, talking to a zombie! But being in Neverland was comfortable.

I continued to drift in and out of sleep, a very pleasant, fuzzy space and discover I have an IV line in to my wrist and a catheter in to my bladder. Yay, that means I don’t have to roll off the bed to use the toilet. A nurse enters my room and picks up a long cylinder, one of four I believe, and asks me if I want to take it home. “What is it?” I ask. She replied that it was my fat!!! I am not sure what she thought I might like to do with it but humurous pictures began to pass through my imagination. Mmmm… perhaps I could use it to spread on my toast for breakfast!!

My guardian angels
23.6.09 – Discharge day today. My little hospital holding place had served its purpose and my apartment bed was calling me home. Everything had gone without a hiccup except for one thing. An administrative staff member had visited me in my hospital room and asked me to sign my discharge papers, which I duly did. I am good at doing as I am told. The time was 10.30 am and I did not realise that that meant I had just discharged myself out right now at this time. Therefore when I asked for more pain relief it was denied as I was officially discharged.

I felt panic begin in the pit of my stomach and rise like bile into my throat. I think the name for that process is ‘panic’. I immediately rang Jasmine on my mobile and explained the situation to her. Like magic, she managed to talk to the nursing staff and organise pain relief for me. She became my guardian angel. I was so pleased I had taken my cell phone and that Jasmine’s number was on it.

Thank goodness for the Gorgeous Getaways staff, they are gutsy, caring, gentle and efficient women. : ) “Little Richard” the ‘crooner’ was my driver who took me back to my
wonderful little apartment.

Michelin Margo and her knickers
24.6.09 Today, I am driven back to Sunmed for my first postop check up. Dr Tan is happy with my progress, the dressings are changed and now Nor and I have to pour my body back in to the special stretchy compression undergarment. I feel a bit like the Michelin Man.

26.6.09 Today I feel ready to go venture out and so I walk around the corner and across the walkway to the little shopping centre. I buy some bits and pieces and enjoy the little look around. As I am gaily walking back to the apartments, minding my own business and looking forward to being able to flop down on my bed when I get back, something very strange starts happening. I can feel something brushing against my lower legs. When I look down, I am alarmed to discover my knickers have dislodged themselves and with each step, they have arrived down around my ankles. I was unable to feel this happening due to my compression garment which finishes at the knees but then my travel sox begin at the knee. I wore them in order to hold back the swelling in my ankles. So here I am, this hapless foreigner standing in the busy street with her knickers down around her ankles. I have two choices here, I thought to myself. I either calmly step out of them or pull them back up. I opted to pull them up. Once I was safely inside my apartment, I convulsed with laughter at the situation. What a sight it must have been.

28.6.09 I am again invited to attend a Gorgeous Getaways hosted luncheon. Such fun and great to meet other like-minded people. I think in fact, that I would like to repeat the whole thing all over again. I had such a great time.

30.6.09 I discover at breakfast that Michael Jackson has died. A sad story for a sad man.

The breakfasts at Lanson are beautiful with wonderful choices.

1.7.09 Second follow up visit to Dr Tan. Sutures were painlessly removed and my progress checked. Given the ‘all clear’ was great. However, I am reminded it will take at least 2 -3 months for the body to settle down in to its new shape. I am not perturbed by this. After all, my body has been out of shape for so many years, what is another 3 months going to be? I am instructed to begin massaging the areas gently on a daily basis. Dr Tan kindly wrote a letter for me to present to the airline requesting I have preference for a seat that has extra room. I did, and I was.

Sleeping in those first days was sometimes a little uncomfortable due to the ‘heavy artillery’ of the compression garment. But I became accustomed to it and actually felt strange when I was not wearing it.

Refitting clothes for my gorgeous body
During my period of recovery, I attended other activities that were kindly arranged by Gorgeous Getaways. We went to the Selangor factory, the fish spa where we had our feet nibbled and ‘gnashed’ by fish and another local meal. I didn’t want to go home. I was having a great time.

I am now 10 weeks post surgery. I continue to wear compression garments although not the strength of the original one. The bruising has long gone and my shape is changing. I now have a waist. What a treat!

I will recommence attending the gym in another few weeks. I am now looking forward to my holiday so I can wear my new smaller clothes. The ones I bought whilst on my Gorgeous Getaways in KL. They are gorgeous and I know I am going to feel really good in them.

All that remains to show I have had surgery are the little, tiny puncture scars. These will fade with time and are not in any way intrusive.

I suggest for others looking at surgery, that they begin taking Arnica for 2 weeks prior to surgery and continue for 2 weeks post surgery. This will ensure the bruising dissipates reasonably quickly. Mine had all but disappeared after only 4 days.

As good as it gets
Gorgeous Getaways as a service is amazing. Their strategies for ensuring their clients are comfortable, stress free, not alone etc are a credit to the business of their overseas surgery business. The staff are friendly, supportive and have great senses of humour. Nothing is too much trouble so thank you to all those who were there to support me through this surgery process.

I highly recommend Gorgeous Getaways to anyone who has been thinking about taking the step toward holiday surgery, you will not be disappointed.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Choosing Malaysia over China
For the last 10 years, I’ve carried an apron and an extra 40kg of weight. I decided to give my gym program a helping hand and get myself a nip and tuck. My friends had spoken about doing something about their problems and I thought why not just do it.

Currently, I reside in China and friends are going to local doctors for their procedures but I’m not that daring. I felt that Malaysia/Thailand had a history of doing plastic surgery so I looked on the internet. I remembered Gorgeous Getaways from a news item done in NZ (the two women were full of praise and confidence) and that was how I made my decision to use Gorgeous Getaways.

When I made the initial inquiry I was breathless, even more so when I got of the plane in KL. My husband came with me and we had spoken to girlfriends in China but no one from NZ.

Everything happened quickly
The Gorgeous Getaways staff, Dr Nasir and hospital staff were wonderful. The hospital service was great. I must admit that I was nervous for weeks before the surgery and only now months after the surgery, am I able to relax about my decision.

The surgery came around so fast, the staff took me into my room, took pre op tests etc and then I woke up looking at an improved but bruised me. The hospital staff were wonderful they cared for me really well.

I felt guilty because I had chosen this procedure and they were so caring. However, I came away with a pressure sore that is still healing now months later but I feel some of that responsibility rests on my shoulders. I chose not to take the pain medication offered therefore I was in pain when I moved and opted to lay in bed (too much) when I should have moved about more. 4 days after surgery I was discharged and removed to recover in the Lanson Apartments.

Sad to leave newfound bonds
I was in Malaysia for a total of 20 days. I was healing very well with little concern. However, the pressure sore and blood loss were concerns. I was very lethargic after operation and movement was very limited.

When it came time to return to China, I was very nervous to leave behind the relationship I had formed with the Gorgeous Getaways nurse and Dr Nasir. But it was just the boost that my spirits needed to return to my own space and my family. Things worked out from there.

When I first woke from the surgery, it was the first time in 10+ years that I could see all of me. It was just overwhelming! People have asked what diet was I on, etc. and I tell them the truth. I had plastic surgery, Wow! were they surprised.

New outlook on life
I feel great. I am still the same person but I’m not. Having done the surgery I have more belief in myself not because I look different but because I coped and overcome my personal barriers. I am looking for new challenges and have written down a list of things I want to acomplish in the next year and beyond.

My stay in Malaysia was wonderful. I was cared for by the hospital staff and the Gorgeous Getaways nurse. The Gorgeous Getaways consultants were helpful and supportive also. I am so pleased that I chose Gorgeous Getaways as the ladies went out of their way to help me and my family and I am sooo grateful.

If I could offer some advice, be clear in your mind what you want and be patient with yourself. Drink lots of water, it is important.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Looking for my silver lining
When I celebrated my 18th birthday with my family, I was totally unaware that a few days later, I was going to be diagnosed with a massive thyroid cancer which had spread to my parathyroids, jugular vein, face and lymph gland. The surgery in Auckland City Hospital was major and the complications that followed were none too pleasant either!

They say that every cloud has a silver lining and all I could think was – at least having cancer I would surely lose weight and look like all my friends. Sadly this was not the case as the doctors thought it was having an endocrine cancer that caused my massive weight gain in the first place.

I continued to battle with my morbid obesity problem – constantly aware that people would stare at me in the street and often mutter comments along the lines that I must be a fastfood junkie – and others that are not printable! Eventually, having completed as much radiotherapy as I was allowed, I had a lapband operation which helped me lose 63kg!

The weight loss sounds terrific but I was left with so much loose skin around my body, I felt as though I looked worse than before. I knew I had to do something, and quickly. I visited a cosmetic surgeon in NZ, but he seemed to think I was in the “too hard” box. The amount of operations he recommended I would need and the costs involved were totally beyond my means!

It seemed I was destined to live with a body I loathed. I felt things were too good to be true when Gorgeous Getaways offered to come to my rescue. I sent photographs and a detailed description of my medical history and an outline of what I realistically hoped to achieve and they were so positive; I actually wondered if it was a trick! At last, it seemed there was light at the end of a very dark tunnel. I just kept hoping that if they could do even half of what I wanted, I would be ecstatic.

Surgery and an engagement
Gorgeous Getaways booked me into the Ampang Puteri Hospital with the famous and well respected plastic surgeon, Dr Jalil. I arrived in Malaysia and from the second I stepped through the airport door, the Gorgeous Getaways team were by my side. I was chauffeured to the hospital and put instantly at ease. I met Dr Jalil and it was such a relief to find a surgeon who actually believed he would make a difference for me. He was going to operate the next day; I could barely contain my excitement.

The operation went even better than expected. Even through the hospital pressure bandages, I could see the difference. My GG case manager was by my side when I was awake enough to talk. The hospital nurses and staff were so kind and helpful; you couldn’t help but feel the future was going to be great.

My girlfriend Ivy came over to Malaysia so she could be by my side every step of the way. She was amazed at how quickly I was up and about and feeling on top of the world.

We went to Mid Valley Mall and bought an engagement ring. I proposed at the top of the KL Tower and to my great delight (and relief) she said yes! Ivy said she loved me no matter how I looked, but she loves the new me – a shadow of my former self and in my eyes, the happiest person ever to have a Gorgeous Getaways holiday ever!

One more procedure before getting hitched
Dr Jalil has said that I would really benefit from having my chest operated on – he couldn’t do this when I had the last surgery as it would not have been safe to do at the same time.

I am hoping that I will be able to raise the funds to have this done so that I can look my best on wedding day on January 24th 2009. Even if I have to wait to have this surgery after I am married, I will definitely have it done and I will certainly be using Gorgeous Getaways and Dr Jalil. The next thing on my list will be to return to have dental work done.

I would not hesitate to recommend Gorgeous Getaways to anyone who is feeling in need of any form of cosmetic surgery. I think I am a perfect example of turning adversity into success – and yes, every cloud does have a silver lining after all!![/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Turning the tables

Growing up, I participated in lots of sports and dancing and even did modelling for a while, so I was pretty fit and had a positive self image.

After a break up with my boyfriend who dumped me “because I was too fat” (I weighed 70kg and am 168cm tall) in 1999, I started piling on weight. In 2001, I decided I needed a new start on life – so I lost around 17kg and joined the Navy. In 2004/2005 the weight all came back due to a lack of exercise and lack of self confidence and motivation left over from my ex boyfriend. I have remained single for over 7 years now.

In early 2005, I had a life changing experience when I spent nearly 4 months in and around Indonesia after the tsunami. I saw and experienced things I could never have imagined. When I returned from this deployment I knew I had to make big changes in my life, but it took me a while to get my head around it all.

I didn’t like who I was, what I was becoming and knew I would remain single and unhealthy if I didn’t start looking after my body. I started walking regularly, resumed my old passion for tap dancing, took up belly dancing and even pole dancing! I joined Weight Watchers and a local gym to get myself in optimum shape for surgery.

I know that having a bit of a nip and tuck won’t suddenly transform me into a hot babe, but I think that coupled with my sense of achievement from my weight loss and a more positive self image, I will be more comfortable in being able to “put myself out there”.

The surgery will finish off all my hard work and will give me time away from the stresses of my job to reflect on what I have accomplished for myself and what I hope to strive for in the future.

I’m so proud of what I have achieved in my life – personally and in my career. I’d like to be able to show other young women that you can turn around hardships and adversity and make them into positives, and that you can have the body you want with lots of hard work first then a holiday on the side with GG to tidy up!

A life changing experience

Everybody has commented on how I look after surgery. I had such a great experience and every day I can look in the mirror and see positive changes to my body and I know that my self esteem is growing as my body is shrinking!

My mum is very impressed with the whole set up and keeps marvelling at how fast my body is healing and changing. I know she was a bit aprehensive at first, but I think because she saw it all for herself, that she will be a positive ambassador of surgery holidays like me!

The chance to show people what they can achieve and prove to them that it can be done inexpensively and safely would mean a lot to me. I’m not emabarrased that I was overweight, or that I have had cosmetic surgery.

I am proud that I have achieved a significant weight loss and that I have done this for myself to make ME happy. Maybe that sounds selfish, but if I don’t take care of number one – who will?!

Everything I have been through since gaining the weight then subsequently losing it is a part of me, it has helped make me into the person I am today and it should be celebrated. Now I’ve got it, I’m going to flaunt it![/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Half-price surgery, full price results
I had considered plastic surgery for quite a few years as after having 5 children. My tummy was wrinkled around the belly button and my breasts were saggy. I felt the lines on my face made me look older than I really was.

I guess I was bothered most about my face as you can cover up your body with clothes. I had previously had a mini facelift that went wrong, the Dr in Australia accidentally cut my nerve and although it has almost repaired, the final results of my surgery were not very good.

I chose to have plastic surgery as I know no amount of moisturizer was going to turn the years back on my face plump up my breasts or get rid of the wrinkles around my belly button.

My face bothered me the most I hated looking at my wrinkles in the mirror every morning.

I checked out the prices to have the surgeries done in Kuala Lumpur and was really supervised how much cheaper it was and as we wanted an overseas holiday decided to go ahead and get it all done. I got my surgeries and a holiday for half the price.

I chose Gorgeous Getaways as I had done a lot of research and felt that they were a very credible company and they had really great reviews from previous clients.

I was not nervous at all just really excited about the surgeries. I told all my friends and some of my work colleagues.

When I first met Dr Wong, I was a little uncomfortable as his manner was very abrupt with me and also with his staff. But I soon realized that he was very competent and that put me at ease.

The hospital I used was an older one which they were in the process of doing up, but the staff were lovely and looked after me really well.

The Gorgeous Getaways support staff were fabulous and very caring.

I wasn’t really nervous about my procedures, just more excited. I was a little nervous for my facelift as my previous mini face lift had gone wrong. I put my faith in Dr Wong as I knew he was a very skilled surgeon. It was good to have all my operations over and done with and after everything went successfully I was able to relax.

I spent two days in hospital.

With having three procedures, it took longer for me to recover than if I had only had one. The tummy tuck tuck took me longest to recover from. I spent about 5 days just relaxing in bed and reading books letting my body really recover. I got up for short walks around my hotel room.

I would recommend that people listen to there bodies and don’t push themselves to do too much to soon, but give there bodies time to heal. I got several massages from the Gorgeous Getaways girls which were divine. My husband and children came over with me and we got together for a lunch with some other Gorgeous Getaways clients which was really nice and great to talk to other ladies who had surgeries.

I was really excited to go home and show my new face and body off. I felt really confident and was so happy with the results.

I feel really great about my new look and so many people have commented and told me how good I look.

I feel my life has improved because I feel sexier and younger and my clothes look better on me now with a bigger bust. I am very slim so my new breasts give me more shape.

I have always believed anything is possible but having a tighter firmer look in my face and body just makes me feel younger and happy with myself. I am happy to walk around in a bikini now.

My recommendations
My advice to someone considering having any of these procedures is go for it. You won’t regret it.

I went and spoke to a couple of surgeons over here to get opinions then chose to have it done in Malaysia because they are just as qualified as our Dr’s and only charge half the price.

Choosing Gorgeous Getaways means you also get great service and support . They organise all your appointments with the surgeon for you and take you to and from these appointments and to your surgery. They are really caring which is nice when you are in a foreign country.

I would 100% recommend Gorgeous Getaways to anyone.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]
